This video is from an outreach to the ROCK of Africa Mission.
It contains much information about the need and situation in
Zimbabwe The video shows the
enormous problem of famine and explains the resulting tragedy of
prostitution. The video also features images of Lazarus (left).
We met Lazarus during this outreach. He was sick and had been to the hospital (one hour away by bus). They had taken x-rays and blood tests, but Lazarus could not return for the test results because he could not pay his bill of 860 Zimbabwe dollars. He asked for our help. With the currency exchange at that time, Lazarus's Z$860 bill was only $1.40 in US currency. Unbelievably, the cost of a cup of coffee in the US had prevented Lazarus from returning to the hospital. We indeed paid his hospital bill, but more importantly we prayed with Lazarus, and he accepted Jesus.
A few days later Lazarus went back to get the results of the tests, and he learned he indeed had AIDS. Because of a lack of medicine in Zimbabwe people like Lazarus are helpless to the disease. Just a few months later Lazarus lost his battle, BUT today he is with Jesus because of people who cared and offered to make a difference in Africa.
ROCK of Africa Mission Outreaches are missions of strategic and eternal importance. God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
